TÜRKBESD White World June 2026

Dear Stakeholders,

The data for the first five months of 2026 indicate a notable contraction in domestic demand and a more pronounced slowdown in export markets for our sector.

In the January–May 2026 period, domestic sales decreased by 6% compared to the same period of the previous year, totaling 4,054,692 units. Exports declined by 20% to 6,938,790 units. In parallel with these developments, production fell by 17% to 10,835,306 units, while total sales decreased by 15% to 10,993,482 units.

Looking at the figures for May 2026, domestic sales showed a very limited recovery of 1%, reaching 852,837 units. However, exports recorded a significant decline of 29%, totaling 1,276,833 units. Production decreased by 31% to 1,814,866 units, while total sales dropped by 19% to 2,129,670 units.

The overall outlook suggests that while a relatively resilient structure is maintained in the domestic market, the contraction in exports continues to be the determining factor on sector performance.

On the other hand, the decisions taken within the scope of the recently concluded anti-dumping investigation on galvanized and coated steel products indicate that cost pressures on steel—one of the key inputs of our sector—will continue to intensify in the upcoming period. In the current environment of challenging demand conditions, this development stands out as a significant factor increasing the cost burden on the sector.

As TÜRKBESD, we continue to create added value for our country by focusing on innovation, efficiency, and export strength. We will continue to work in close cooperation with all our stakeholders for the sustainable future of our sector.

Sincerely,
Alper Şengül
Chairman of the Board
