About Turkbesd

The Turkish White Goods Manufacturers’ Association (TÜRKBESD) was established in 1986 under the name White Goods Manufacturers’ Association (BESD) by the leading companies in Türkiye’s home appliance industry. In 1999, following its accession to APPLiA (Home Appliance Europe), the European trade association representing the home appliance sector, the Association was granted permission by the Council of Ministers to use the name “Türkiye” and was subsequently renamed the Turkish White Goods Manufacturers’ Association (TÜRKBESD).

Today, TÜRKBESD has ten member companies: Arçelik, BSH, Candy Group, Dyson, Electrolux, Miele, Samsung, Versuni, Vestel and Midea Group Türkiye.

TÜRKBESD represents approximately 90% of Türkiye’s white goods industry. It also serves as the official representative of Türkiye within APPLiA (Home Appliance Europe), the European association for home appliance manufacturers. Through its membership in APPLiA, TÜRKBESD actively participates in European-level policy and technical discussions, with experts from its member companies contributing to the work of APPLiA’s various committees and working groups.

Whenever required or upon request, TÜRKBESD provides opinions, technical input and public statements to relevant government ministries, non-governmental organizations and media on issues concerning the home appliance industry.
